Weekday Programming Spring 2010

 SISTERS: Bible Study for Women

  • The Monday group meets from 10:00 to 11:00 am in room 102. Currently, we're studying Breaking the Code: The Book of Revelation. Whenever natural disasters strike, it seems the question of the "end of times" creeps up. Much of the questioning comes from snippets taken from the book of Revelation - one of the most confusing books of the Bible. Together, we'll take a nine-week look at the last book of the Bible and unpack its symbolism. Led by Debbie Irving, we'll discover how the historical context of the author plays a key role in unlocking the symbols, images, and ultimate message of Revelation. Materials fee is $9.00.

  • NEW! Monday Sisters Bible Study  All women are invited to a 6-week study of Max Lucado's new book, Fearless. We'll explore how to make faith, rather than fear, be our first response to challenges. The materials fee is $15, payable at the first class. This session begins March 22 and meets each Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 am in room 102. Childcare is provided. Registration is required.

  • NEW! Thursday Sisters Studies  This year, we’re trying something new! We’ll study a series of diverse topics and you’re welcome to join at any time. All materials are provided and there is no materials fee.  All women are invited to participate in our Thursday Sisters Bible Study. Led by Linda Stewart, we meet each Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in room 218.

Book Groups

  • The Sunday Night Women's Book Group meets Sundays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  Together, we'll make our way through the chosen book selection and have plenty of time for thought-provoking discussion and fellowship. This group is co-led by Angie Groth and Karen Lakes.

Beginning February 28 - Around the Fire (from Beginnings: Longing to Belong)

  • Our Men's Book Club meets once a month, usually on the 2nd Sunday of the month, at 6:30 pm in room 107. All men are welcome to join the discussion; each person is responsible for obtaining his own copy of the book. No registration is necessary -- just show up ready to discuss the month's book.

Sunday, March 14 - Confessions of an Eco-Sinner by Fred Pearce

Sunday, April 11 - The Gospel According to Tolkien by Ralph C Wood

Sunday, May 16 - Stones Into School by Greg Mortenson

 NEW Sunday Morning Study

What's in the Bible & How Do I Use It?

  • What is Jacob's Ladder?

  • What do you mean Tarsus isn't a car?

  • Where do I find that "The Lord is My Shepherd" poem?

  • What are all these translations? I'm SO confused!

Find answers to all these questions and much, much more! This is a great introduction on how to choose and use your Bible.

We'll also cover how to find biblical help on real-life issues such as hope, love, anger, forgiveness, and even body image.

Led by Debbie Irving, this 8-week class begins March 7 and will meet from 9:30-10:30 am. For more information, please e-mail Debbie at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Everyone is welcome!
