United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is a community of women offering programs promoting spiritual, educational, and personal enrichment. We gather for four special program meetings on the first Thursday evening of March, May, October, and December. In preparation for the holidays, we sponsor an Angelus service the second Thursday of November. In addition to the special event gatherings, we have 7 Circles (small groups of ladies who meet monthly to share devotions, programs and fellowship). We have daytime and evening circles and all women are invited to be a part of these small group fellowships. Our Quilters meet weekly on Wednesday morning. Our activities include catered banquets, Easter Basket Project, a garage sale, and a silent auction and luncheon, all of which help support global, district and local missions. Newcomers are always welcome for this time of “fun and fellowship with a purpose.”

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Our mission is to spread the love, hope, and comfort of Jesus Christ through knot and crochet prayer shawls. These shawls are given in faith to recipients either in celebration or life crisis.

Additional projects such as hats for the homeless, and lap afghans for Vitas and Hospice have been accomplished.

Participation and suggestions are always welcome. We meet Wednesdays 9:00-10:30 a.m. in room 202.
