Small Groups
Being involved with a church means more than simply coming to worship service. Consider becoming involved with one of the following small group programs at Concord Trinity. There's literally something for everybody.
United Methodist MenThe United Methodist Men are a fellowship group who seek to know God and Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually, and to seek His will. On the third Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. the United Methodist Men meet for a light breakfast followed by prayer and fellowship. They sponsor the Annual Sweetheart Banquet in February, a Mother's Day event, a Spaghetti Dinner in October, and a Toy Breakfast in December. They also participate in barbecues during spring and summer. They perform church related service projects, projects outside the church, conduct fund-raisers, make contributions to local area missions, and purchase major items for our church. All men are members of the United Methodist Men.
United Methodist WomenThe United Methodist Women is a community of women offering programs promoting spiritual, educational, and personal enrichment. We gather for four special program meetings on the first Thursday evening of March, May, October, and December. In preparation for the holidays, we sponsor an Angelus service the second Thursday of November. In addition to the special event gatherings, we have 7 Circles (small groups of ladies who meet monthly to share devotions, programs and fellowship). We have daytime and evening circles and all women are invited to be a part of these small group fellowships. Our Quilters meet weekly on Wednesday morning. Our activities include catered banquets, Easter Basket Project, and a silent auction and luncheon, all of which help support global, district and local missions. Newcomers are always welcome for this time of “fun and fellowship with a purpose.”
55 PlusOlder Adult Ministry Mission Statement: Older Adult Ministry provides a network of resources and spiritual, service, and social opportunities for mature (55+) adults of Concord Trinity UMC. Some of our ongoing groups are: Book Discussion, which meets the 2nd Thursday of the month, a Blood Pressure clinic is scheduled the 2nd Sunday of each month, Bible Study every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Library, and the first Wednesday of each month we meet for “lunch and a movie.” The 55+ group has an ongoing service project of visiting shut-ins.
CTUMC SinglesThis group is open to single persons of all ages who are seeking fellowship in a Christian environment. Group meetings are held once a month on the 4th Tuesdays, offering a potluck dinner along with a short program. Other activities are held at various times throughout the month, and may include attending the theater, going out to eat, or taking a walk through the Botanical Gardens. All of these activities are designed to reach out to and include single persons in the life of the church, and to celebrate single persons as a part of God’s family.
