Youth are not the church of tomorrow - they are the church right now! Through a broad spectrum of youth activities, we seek to include youth in all facets of church life and to support them as they grow and mature in their faith.
AcolytesYouth in fifth grade through high school are encouraged to participate in the acolyte program. This program allows the youth to add a positive contribution to Concord Trinity's worship service.
Confirmation ClassThe Confirmation experience begins in the 6th grade and is open to any youth who is interested in finding out more about church membership and what it means to be a disciple “on purpose.” The class meets weekly during the Sunday school hour (9:30 AM) on Sunday mornings from September through June. However, the class time is only part of the experience.
We also visit other churches and synagogues, go on retreats, and participate in local mission projects. These projects and activities are designed to give the students a taste of what it is to be a church member, to begin to ask questions about their faith, and to claim for themselves the promises made for them at their baptisms.
Jr. High Sunday SchoolThe Junior High Sunday School Class meets in the Junior High Room, #219. The teachers for this class are committed and caring people who seek to help Junior High youth in grades 6-8 through the transition time of leaving their childhood and beginning to explore adulthood through Bible study and the application of Biblical principles to life experiences.
Senior High Sunday SchoolThe Senior High Sunday School class is offered to students in grades 9-12. This class seeks answers to the tough questions that are facing senior high students today. Through class discussion, Bible study, and the leadership of adults who are committed to understanding and helping youth, all possibilities are explored, from the quick and easy answers to the deeper “God answers”, and how these inform and shape young Christians. The class meets in the Sr. High Room, #220.
UMYF!UMYF! meets every Sunday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM. The primary purpose of UMYF is building relationships – between youth and God, between youth and church, between youth and youth, and between youth and the world. Activities are always varied, including lock-ins, retreats, mission projects of all kinds, fund-raising activities, fellowship opportunities, dinner theater, paintball and Bible study, just to name a few. Junior High UMYF is open to youth in grades 6-8; the Senior High welcomes youth in grades 9-12. Junior and Sr. High often share opening and closing times and participate in separate discussion times.
