The Spirit Who Empowers
June 8, 2025
The Spirit empowers us across barriers, beyond buildings, and into the world. People who are empowered by the Spirit are people who carry the presence of God to bless and touch lives in ways that are beyond what is humanly possible.
READ
Acts 10:44-48; Habakkuk 3:2
O Lord, I have heard of your renown, and I stand in awe, O Lord, of your work. In our own time revive it; in our own time make it known.
REFLECT
1. What stands out to you about the Spirit falling on “all” people in Acts 10?
2. How do you see the Spirit breaking through barriers in the Church today?
3. Do you believe revival can start with you? Do you believe you’re empowered to carry God’s love and presence in your sphere of influence?
RESPOND
1. Identify areas where fear, insecurity, or comfort has kept you from Spirit-empowered obedience. Begin each day praying, “Holy Spirit, empower me to live bold, love big, and lead well today.”
2. In Acts 10, the Spirit breaks cultural and religious barriers. Ask, “Holy Spirit, where do You want to stretch my love?” Cultivate relationships across cultural, racial, and generational lines and learn from voices different than your own.
3. Be interruptible and available. Peter didn’t plan for the Spirit to fall—it happened unexpectedly! Invite the Spirit to interrupt your day, your plans, your schedule.
