The Spirit Who Fills And Overflows

Have you ever experienced moments where the ordinary just doesn’t satisfy anymore, and you know deep down that there’s more? Have you ever found yourself longing for God's presence, God's strength, God's love in your life like never before? God wants to fill you with the Holy Spirit and empower you with peace that surpasses understanding, power for living victoriously, and purpose in your everyday life.

‘And now, Lord, grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.’ When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.
REFLECT
1. What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
2. What are the conditions for receiving more of God? How do we receive the Holy Spirit?
3. Do you long for more of God in your life—more of God's peace, strength, love? Do you believe there is more to God and to your life than what you’ve experienced so far ?
RESPOND
1. Become aware of your personal inadequacy and recognize your own powerlessness, indifference, lack of faith, etc. Ask God to show you where your faith has turned into maintenance-mode, and ask the Spirit to stir fresh hunger.
2. Desire for your current personal condition to change and cultivate a spiritual hunger to experience the presence and power of God and all that God has to offer.
3. Don't wait until Sundays or crisis moments. Begin each day with the simple prayer, “Holy Spirit, fill me today.” Ask God daily for fresh courage, fresh joy--a fresh filling of God's presence and power in your life, and ask Holy Spirit to show you how you can partner with God in small steps of faith.
