Diversity In Encounter

February 22, 2026

God shows up in many ways, in many places, through many people. Faith is revealed beyond familiar walls and expected patterns. When we notice Christ in communities different from our own, we discover fresh perspectives, deeper understanding, and new ways to experience God’s presence in the world. Each encounter invites us to see God more fully and to live with greater openness, compassion, and courage.

READ

1 Corinthians 12:12-27

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

REFLECT

1. Where have you noticed God working in unexpected places or communities?
2. How have your assumptions about faith or worship been challenged by someone different from me?
3. In what ways does stepping outside your comfort zone deepen your understanding of God?

RESPOND

1. Attend a service or gathering different from your usual experience. Pay attention to how people connect with God and one another.
2. Listen for stories of faith beyond your circle. Ask someone from another church, denomination, or cultural background about how they experience God.
3. Practice gratitude for diversity. Identify one thing you learned from someone different that helped you see God more clearly.
