One Another

April 6, 2025

We live in a culture of in which excess is the norm and it's not hard to find ourselves wanting more even when we already have enough. Living in Jesus' grace and contentment of having enough when we experience life with one another in community and in God's love shields us from ever needing more and more.

READ

John 13:5-17

So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.

REFLECT

1. We live in a world that thinks more is better. However, Jesus tells Peter that just washing his feet is enough. Have you ever heard or felt that you had enough?
2. Have you ever been in a group and someone was always asking for more than the rest of the group? How did that feel?
3. What is Jesus teaching about leadership and the role of a leader?
4. What does it look like to be in community like the one Jesus is challenging the disciples to live life by loving and serving one another as he has loved and served them?

RESPOND

1. When you are the leader in your family, work team, community or other organization, how can you lead like Jesus in this story?
2. Think of three ways you can lead your family, work, community or other group to care and serve one another as Jesus is calling his disciples to live in community with one another.
3. Jesus is lifting up being in a community that loves one another as he has loved us. Are you in a community like that? Contact us about joining a community group that lives life with one another like this.
