Holy Spirit: God's Presence in Us

July 20, 2025

Could it be that the Holy Spirit is more than a chapter in the Bible, more than a force or a feeling? What if the Spirit is the living presence of God, still writing God's story through ordinary people like you and me? This week, we explore what it means to carry heaven inside us, to be transformed from the inside out, and to become living evidence that God's future is already breaking into the present.

READ

Acts 2:1-4, Acts 1:8 Romans 8:9-16

If the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, God who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you.

REFLECT

1. What does it mean to you that the Holy Spirit is not just God's nearness but a holy, sovereign, speaking Lord who is both personal and powerful?
2. If heaven has invaded earth through the Spirit, where in your thoughts, habits, and relationships do you live like heaven has already begun? Where don’t you?
3. What community dynamic, cause, or conversation do you often approach from a human perspective rather than with God's Spirit inside you?

RESPOND

1. Pause before making decisions big or small (vacation plans, purchases, responses, free time) and ask: “Holy Spirit, what do you say about this decision? What aligns with who you’re forming me to be?"
2. Train yourself to see with heaven's eyes by walking your street, school, church, or workplace and asking: Holy Spirit, what do you see here? What do you want to do?
3. Invite someone new, someone often overlooked, or someone from a different background or life stage to a meal or a simple gathering where the Holy Spirit is welcomed not just for comfort but for conversation that reflects God's heart.
