A New Year, A Steady Hope
January 4, 2026
A new year invites reflection and resolve. Grounded in God’s unchanging faithfulness, we consider a hope that holds steady even when the future isn’t clear and life doesn’t move as planned. Drawing from ancient wisdom and lived experience, we explore how perseverance, trust, and renewal shape the way we move forward. It’s an invitation to begin again with resilience and purpose.
READ
Isaiah 40:28–31; Philippians 3:12–14
Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted, but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
REFLECT
1. Where do you find yourself needing renewed strength or endurance right now?
2. What does it look like for you to trust God’s faithfulness even when the future feels unfinished or unclear?
3. What is God inviting you to keep reaching toward—rather than settling or giving up on?
RESPOND
1. Notice where perseverance is needed more than certainty in your life. Practice praying, “God, renew my strength for what’s ahead” each day.
2. Reach out to someone or a family—through a call, note, visit or conversation—as a way of embodying hope through connection and encouragement.
3. Identify one small action—serving, giving, inviting, or committing—that aligns your life with where God may be leading, even if the full picture isn’t clear yet.
