The One Who Came Back
November 23, 2025
How do we notice God’s faithfulness in our lives and in the world around us? Like the one leper who returned to thank Jesus, true wholeness begins when we stop, turn back, and offer our gratitude. Gratitude is more than a feeling—it is a choice that reorients our hearts, shapes how we relate to others, and opens us to participate in the renewal God is bringing to our communities and church.
READ
Luke 17:11–19
Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten made clean? So where are the other nine? Did none of them return to give glory to God except this foreigner?” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.”
REFLECT
1. When have you felt God’s care or presence but haven’t taken the time to pause and say “thank you”?
2. What helps you notice or celebrate the ways God shows up in your day-to-day life?
3. How does choosing gratitude, even in tough moments, change the way you experience God and others?
RESPOND
1. Name a few ways God has carried you or our church this year, and take a moment to thank God intentionally.
2. Pick one area of your life where you can “turn back” to God, maybe a relationship, a habit, or a choice, and do one small, intentional action that reflects gratitude.
3. Share a story of God’s faithfulness with a friend, family member, or someone in the church. Invite them to notice and celebrate God with you.
